Recently S. Somasegar, the Vice President of Microsoft’s Developer Division, discussed the new features that will be coming to Visual Studio 11. Topics discussed include support for ECMAScript 5, improved IntelliSense, JavaScript debugging, and Read-Evaluate-Print Loop (REPL) for JavaScript development.


Also among the new features coming in Visual Studio 11 will be Asynchronous programming support for C# and Visual Basic 11, enhanced IDE support, and the ability to create native Windows Metro apps using C++. Parallel code development has also been enhanced through the C++ compiler.
