With the Egyptian Government cutting-off Internet access last week in the wake of civil unrest in Egypt, Microsoft was forced to redistribute the work to other call-centers. Microsoft is among 120 other businesses located in Cairo’s “Smart Village”, a technology office park opened in 2003, who were forced to move their business elsewhere with the onset of civil unrest in the region. Microsoft is monitoring the situation however until Internet access to the office park is restored, technology businesses simply cannot function.
