This week SendGrid, an email deliverability software provider, released details about a partnership with Microsoft in which the SendGrid email infrastructure package will be included with Windows Azure. The agreement will initially provide Windows Azure customers with a free email infrastructure package that includes 25,000 free emails per month.
Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of its Windows Azure Application Platform, Scott Guthrie, discussed the partnership, stating that “Windows Azure customers need a transactional email delivery system that they can integrate with their applications. As part of the Windows Azure partner ecosystem, SendGrid can help customers by providing the email infrastructure and tools to get their transactional emails to the inbox, while managing their applications entirely within the Windows Azure environment.”
