Some developers recall that Microsoft does robotics–its robotics development toolkit is popular among robotics enthusiasts. This week the company announced that it is releasing a spin-off of its Kinect for Windows SDK–for robotics.
Robotics developers can now download the Kinect Services for Robotics Developer Studio (RDS), essentially a wrapper that is built upon the Kinect SDK, which allows developers to use Kinect services with the CCR/DSS programming model. Kinect technologies are continuing to expand to areas that are poised to change the way we interact with computers and devices.
