Microsoft recently announced a new tool which enables developers to port Android apps to Windows Phone, making the transition to Windows Phone 7 development much easier. The tool was designed to help Android developers understand the Windows Phone 7 environment and enable them to port their existing applications to the Windows platform and Marketplace.

There are still more Android developers than Windows Phone developers, but Windows Phone is second on the list, with 36% of developer interest. Microsoft is hoping to entice Android programmers to develop for the Windows platform by providing an easy migration path.
