For those who haven’t heard of it, the Mono project is a cross-platform development language that is available for the Mac OS X, PS3, Wii, iPhone, iPad and Android. Over 2000 games on the Apple App store are powered by Mono, with 10 percent of those apps making the top-selling app list.

Mono can be defined as a programming language that combines the advantages of .NET with those of C#, bringing together the best of both worlds. By using Mono, developers can leverage their existing .NET skillset along with the power provided by C# to develop applications for other platforms, and more importantly, for mobile devices.
