Microsoft: Linux Kernel Contributor

The Linux Foundation issued its semi-annual report this week and in it, included recognition for Microsoft as a bona fide Linux kernel contributor. With the Linux Foundation’s recognition of Microsoft as being a major contributor,  it certainly helps to heal the wounds of Steve Ballmer’s 2001 comments during the intellectual property battle that year when he stated that Linux is nothing more than a Cancer. At the very least, it’s a big step forward for Microsoft in adapting to a world of Linux in the Enterprise and the Mobile realms. More on this story here.
