Microsoft has made Windows Azure Infrastructure Services generally available today. This is Microsoft’s IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) offering.

Normally I wouldn’t write about this because it is an IT Pro topic more so than a developer topic; however, I’ve been hit with a number of emails and postings on it today, so it is front-and-center in my mind. Even as a developer, I did find the following video interesting in explaining simply what Infrastructure Services is. Feel free to take a look.

Of course, if you want to know more about cloud computing, you can might have noticed my last blog post that mentioned we just launched a Cloud Development Project Center. It contains a number of white papers on cloud computing terminology that you might find educational as well.

Note: This post was independently made; however, I am disclosing that we do business with Microsoft.
