In a major decision that Microsoft’s previous CEO, Steve Ballmer, was unable to make, the new Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced today that Windows will now be free to all Table and Smartphone OEM’s and while Microsoft was only charging OEM’s a reported $5 to $15 us for Windows licensing fees on those devices in the past, marketing the OS for free will have a major impact on the overall price moving forward for these devices.
