Microsoft Announces the Development of the First Zero Carbon Data Center

Microsoft dubs it the “Data Plant” and it will recycle common waste bi-products in order to power their cloud services housed there. By implementing a new biogas powered stationary fuel cell designed by the FuelCell Energy Company they are leveraging the unique ability to transform biogas into zero carbon electricity. The new Data Center, or Data Plant will help Microsoft to deliver more their more than 200 online services to 1+ billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 76 markets worldwide.
