This week Microsoft will unveil a software development kit (SDK) for its Surface Multi-Touch System. Developers can download the Surface SDK for Visual Studio 2010 from MSDN beginning Tuesday, July 12th, 2011.

Microsoft’s Surface 2.0 comes as a serious update to its original multi-touch system, with a higher resolution video (1920×1080), faster CPU, additional RAM and a new graphic processing unit (GPU). Surface 2.0’s new graphical user interface (GUI) is based on Windows 7, and targets both Surface displays and Windows 7 touch-enabled systems.
