Officially Unlock Windows Phone 7 with ChevronWP7 App

In an unusual twist, Microsoft recently approved the development of s Windows Phone 7 app which unlocks the device to allow users to install “homebrew” apps. The group that is creating the app, ChevronWP7, announced that they will be officially releasing it soon for $9.


Chris Walsh of Chevron recently tweeted that the Mango and Nodo updates will stop piracy, but that the the updates will not affect homebrew apps. ChevronWP7 wants to ensure that paid apps will not appear through the use of their app.
