This week at CES, Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer demonstrated a newly ported version of the popular iOS game Cut the Rope–created using HTML5. The game was created by ZeptoLab and Pixel Lab, who partnered with Microsoft to bring a version of the game to all modern web browsers using HTML5.

The game, which can be played at www.cuttherope.ie, has 27 levels available for players. It is currently listed in PCMag.com’s Best 50 iPhone Apps and 50 Best Android Apps, and has a five-star user rating in the iTunes App Store. The game is an excellent demonstration of the type of applications that Microsoft is touting for its Metro-style web browser, which is going to be “plug-in free.”
