Microsoft’s SP1 releases will include feature enhancements, improvements in compatibility with Windows 8.1 and performance improvements, according to Microsoft’s announcement. No other details were described, but Microsoft promised additional information near release time. Microsoft has consistently indicated that service packs for its customer premises-installed products are still part of its product release cycles.
