In the last month, usage of Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system has dropped by 3.9 percent, which brings it to an all time low of 50.5% of desktop computers. Net Applications, an analytics company, said it was the largest one-month drop they have seen since they began tracking Windows XP.
In the same report, it was noted that Windows Vista dropped 4.9 percent, and is used by only 9.1% of internet-connected PCs. Refering to XP, Microsoft’s chief operating officer, Kevin Turner, stated that “It’s now time for it to go.”
